Strivers Row - Luminary Dreams

For this project, we designed a bedroom sanctuary for a Luminary Queen—double Leo Sun and Moon with a Cancer Rising. Her luminary energy is so prominent and strong, yet with her fourth house (home) in Virgo and Jupiter on her Ascendant, her natal chart provided us with a unique opportunity to create a bedroom design that alluded to her warmth and dynamic nature with a touch of simplicity and modesty.

Oasis by Ogor first focused on the softness of the moon, leaning into the shape of the luminaries as the guiding principle behind her furnishings. We emphasized the curves to reflect the crescent moon. We wanted to bring out the feminine nature of the luminary by selecting a Joss & Main rattan bedframe that created a safe cocoon at the head of the bed, which all Cancers deeply need to feel secure in their space. By providing a bench at the end of the bed, we were able to provide additional storage and texture to the space. The motif of the round shapes continued with the Urban Outfitters' Palmera bamboo fan, which we used as the centerpiece above the bed, and the Color Cord Company plugin wall scones to flank the bed. We carried the gold accents with the mounted oval mirror on the opposite wall. The magnificent prints featuring the Moon and the Sun were the perfect backdrop above a vintage mid-century dresser, bringing the vibrance of the orange sunset into the room. By finishing the space with faux green plants, we were able to bring the natural elements of the Virgo fourth house into her room without adding excessive energy that may disrupt her peaceful sleep.
