West Harlem - Opposites Attract

Oasis Interiors by Ogor was asked to transform a newly built apartment into a personalized contemporary space that brings a new meaning to “opposites attract.” The interior design objective was to help furnish, accessorize, and style the apartment to activate a young couple with opposing Sun signs to harmonize a new home together.

The newly built apartment had an open-concept living and kitchen space, two bedrooms, and bathrooms. The play on the opposition of the Sun signs and the juxtaposition of the masculine and feminine energy was the inspiration behind the design scheme. For the primary bedroom, we leaned into a deep navy blue and mauve pink modern wallpaper to help set the foundation for the color palette throughout the home. With gold as the accent, we married the furnishings in the bedroom with the living room to create a dynamic space for relaxation and entertaining. Despite their opposing Suns, their shared value in learning was highlighted by their love for reading, so Oasis by Ogor helped design the bespoke industrial-styled Soil and Oak desk with shelves fit to show off their growing collections of books. The result is a layered and balanced aesthetic fit for new memories with each other and loved ones.
